Messe Frankfurt announced on November 12th that the 2021 edition of the Clean Show will be postponed due to the ongoing global effects of COVID-19. The next edition will take place in Atlanta from July 30th to August 30th, 2022. This emerges from a report published by TRSA, the trade organization of the North American Textile Rental Association.
TRSA reported: After months of strategic discussions with the global management of Messe Frankfurt, partner associations and representatives of the most important exhibition groups at the fair, the team decided that the promotion of the fair and its subsequent edition is in the best interests of the entire industry.
The decision will affect at least the next two editions, with Clean 2023 also being postponed to August 2024.
"While this was a difficult decision, we are confident that by moving The Clean Show, we can deliver the quality experience and return on investment that our exhibitors and visitors have come to expect from Clean," said Greg Jira, Show Director of The Clean Show .
The decision to move the trade fair was well received by the exhibitors. "I was delighted with Messe Frankfurt's response to understanding the issues exhibitors are facing in the face of the changing global event of Covid-19," said Jeff Frushtick, Chairman and CEO of Leonard Automatics. "I am of the opinion that the trade fair was very open with its discussions and understanding of the exhibitors' issues during this very difficult time."
Engelbert Heinz, Managing Director of Kannegiesser, acted as a consultant during the decision-making process and supported the move until 2022. “We have always valued our relationship with the Clean Show and are proud to have established such an outstanding role in the event. Said Heinz. “While postponing the show is unfortunate, we believe it is in the best interests of the industry. Our entire company looks forward to the opportunity to meet again in person in Atlanta in 2022. "
Another important exhibitor in the industry, Jesper Munch Jensen, CEO of the JENSEN-GROUP, also showed his company's support for the postponement. "The Clean Show is traditionally a very important platform on which we can present and demonstrate the leading automation devices in our industry," said Jensen. "We appreciate Messe Frankfurt, which takes into account the global planning problems of the manufacturing industry, and we are behind Clean in their decision to postpone the next trade fair to 2022."
As the show approaches the new dates, the team will post communications of important changes and deadlines for exhibiting companies and individuals planning to attend. Additionally, Jira said she should "stay tuned" as the Messe Frankfurt team is working on alternative ways for the industry to do business until she meets again in person in 2022.
The Clean Show is organized in partnership with five industry leading associations: the Textile Rental Services Association of America (TRSA), the Association for Linen Management (ALM), the Coin Laundry Association (CLA), the Dry-Cleaning & Laundry Institute (DLI) and Association of Textile Care Allies (TCATA).
