TRSA presents necessary international market evaluation for textile companies

A report on the Global Textile Care Market commissioned by TRSA predicts that while the industry's demand will weaken in 2021, the industry will experience moderate growth through 2024.

TRSA recently hosted a webinar in collaboration with the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) to present the results of its global market analysis for textile services. The two-hour presentation aired on September 29 and re-aired separately on September 30 with shows for executives in the Asia Pacific and Middle East. Around 350 executives from the areas of linen, uniform and facility services have adjusted to the series.

Claire Casey, Global Executive Director, Public Policy Practice, EIU, opened the webinar with an in-depth discussion of the report, which examined market sectors, key indicators and key companies for linen, uniform and facility services in five regions and 13 countries worldwide as Guide to investing, expanding, and making strategic decisions in the global linen, uniform, and facility services industry.

Casey noted that the industry's demand will weaken through 2021, but that the industry will experience modest growth globally through 2024, with demand for workwear improving as industries across the global economy shift from that caused by Covid-19 recover caused downturn. Healthcare demand will lead to stable outlook for flat linen. Hotels hit by declines in business and leisure travel related to Covid-19 will have an adverse impact by 2022. After that, the hotels will expand rapidly according to the analysis.

Casey also provided the economic forecasts and trends for various market sectors, including:

· Construction

· Energy, oil and gas

· Health care

· Hotels

· Manufacturing

A total of 10 companies were featured in the report, including Aramark, Cintas, CWS, Elan, Elis, Johnson Service Group, K-Bro, Rentokil Initial, Spotless and UniFirst. The analysis provided important insights into global trends and how companies are dealing with the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Following Casey's presentation, Vaibhav Sahgal, advisor to the Public Policy Group, EIU, attended the webinar to provide further insight into the study. The presentation ended with a question and answer session moderated by the President and CEO of TRSA, Joseph Ricci.

Upon completion of the Q&A, several executives from leading global linen, uniform and facility services companies attended the webinar for a panel discussion on global trends affecting the industry. Panelists included:

Ricci moderated the panel discussion. Pan Wei, CEO and General Secretary of the China Laundry Association (CLA), gave insights into the Chinese market for linen, uniform and facility services in a recorded video.
