The Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council (HLAC) is hosting a webinar that addresses the specific challenges facing laundry professionals in healthcare to continually learn how their processes are working and whether their laundry standards are targeted and safe as originally intended.
The free 70-minute webinar "How monitoring keeps your laundry processes effective, targeted and secure" should take place at 1 p.m. (CDT), August 14th. Webinar participants are asked to register here in advance.
Experts will be on-site to discuss strategies, solutions, techniques and tools to monitor the laundry process to ensure excellent operational quality in uncertain times and at all times. The webinar focuses on proprietary extraction techniques that can be used to determine and quantify the most accurate representation of the exposure to bio-pollution on washing media:
- On hard surfaces
- In the air
- On linen
- In the water
- At the hands of the employees.
Relevant scenarios are provided that show how newly available process monitoring tools can be used to identify concerns and drive process improvements. This webinar is aimed at healthcare professionals and medical professionals whose daily interaction regularly includes healthcare laundry. This includes relevant personnel working in the areas of infection prevention and environmental services.
The hosts of the webinar include a team of professionals who helped develop the HLAC Laundry Processing Monitoring Toolkit (PMTK). HLAC is an independent certification body that inspects and accredits laundries that process textiles for hospitals, nursing homes and other health care facilities.
Planned moderators are:
- Gregory Gicewicz, President, Sterile Surgical Systems, Tumwater, WA
- Mark J. Hoenemeyer, CEO of Bay Linen Services, Clearwater, FL
