Foodland Supermarkets has launched a new "Exploring SA" campaign to promote and support all 12 regions of South Australia.
Foodland's weekly Exploring SA campaign kicks off on July 22 with a feature in the Adelaide Hills, offering tips on attractions that can be visited across the state, and encouraging shoppers to support local brands and producers in the regions.
Foodland has also worked with several accommodation providers, from caravan and camping parks to bed and breakfasts and eco-lodges, to provide Foodland customers with exclusive accommodation and ultimately to encourage them to visit the regions.
"At Foodland we are proud of our commitment to be the mighty South Australians," said Christopher Villani, General Manager Marketing and Merchandise at Foodland Supermarkets.
“COVID-19 shows that this is more important than ever. Our customers want to support local customers and we are trying to go one step further. We encourage our customers to support brands in all 12 of our incredible regions. "
"We have worked very hard on this campaign in collaboration with the South Australian Tourism Commission and local tourism offices and hope that this campaign will ultimately give local businesses the boost they need to succeed in our new world."
Rodney Harrex, chief executive of the South Australian Tourism Commission, said the new campaign is a perfect way to promote regional recovery in turn.
"We know that our state offers an excellent range of food and wine. Anything that encourages visitors to our regions to buy additional supplies – from seafood to cheese to gourmet products – will only help South Australia get back on that Legs to come, "he said.
The Exploring SA campaign will be published in Foodland's weekly catalog, in-store collateral and on digital channels until the end of October 2020.
"At Foodland, we're lucky enough to have great reach and commitment across the entire South Australian community," said Villani. “Our catalog has a large reach with over 500,000 printed copies per week. Our website offers us the opportunity to give our customers a comprehensive overview of the regions and to give comprehensive recommendations on what they can see and do in our state. ”
Mr. Villani is pleased that this Exploring SA campaign is the first step towards the new normality of Foodland. "We have always been loud and proud of our support from the state, but this is the first step in a new and exciting local strategic direction."
