Charity assist for households financially affected by coronavirus

United Kingdom
UKFT, the trade association that represents the country's chemical cleaners, is constantly updating its website with the latest news and instructions as they become available from the government.

At the same time, UKFT advises families of textile carers who may be in trouble in the current and post-crisis period and their employers to review the Fashion & Textile Children's Trust (FTCT).

The Fashion & Textile Children's Trust (FTCT) can support families in the British fashion and textile industry, especially in the face of the corona virus. FTCT offers grants for the cost of essential items for children between 0 and 18 years of age, whose parents / carers work in the UK fashion and textile industry. FTCT is currently aimed at both employees and employers in member companies whose earnings have been or are likely to be impacted by closings, short working hours or layoffs as a result of corona virus.

If FTCT can help:
If the family has relatives aged 0 to 18 and the parents have financial difficulties due to loss of income, an FTCT grant could cover the cost of essential items such as clothing, school uniform and household items.

While FTCT grants cannot help with immediate problems such as replacing lost income or covering billing costs, they can be particularly helpful as soon as the coronavirus crisis subsides and the financial impact is actually felt.

Parents are encouraged to learn more about FTCT grants and to pre-order seasonal items such as school uniforms or essential clothing that will become essential in the summer months. Please visit www.ftct.org.uk for more information.

UKFT is in constant dialogue with the government and is keen to hear from companies. Please send an email to info@ukft.org
