How to make your own effective HANDSANITIZER.
Watch the video
How one:
- Combine the following in a bowl or container:
- 1 – teaspoon 71% – 95% alcohol (this percentage must be alcohol to kill viruses)
- 1/4 cup aloe vera gel
- 1/2 – teaspoon of Vegetabe Glycerin
- Mix the ingredients together to combine them well. I like to use a small whisk
- After combining, you can add about 10 drops of essential oil – this is optional
- Stir again to combine
- Add a small amount of distilled or purified water. I add about half a teaspoon at a time to maintain the consistency of the hand sanitizer. Stir again
- A reused hand sanitizer container or other container.
- Use a funnel to pour the disinfectant into the bottle
- Use like any hand disinfectant
Remarks:
This is a replacement for hand disinfectants bought in the store
Warnings and precautions:
Measure carefully to ensure that you are not diluting the mixture too much. You must use an alcohol content of 71% or more for disinfection. Buy this product wherever alcohol is sold. Make a couple of bottles at a time. It doesn't contain stabilizers, so it might lose effectiveness after about a month.
Why it works:
The alcohol disinfects and the aloe vera prevents the hands from drying out and helps to distribute the alcohol on the palm of the hand. The glycerin draws moisture onto the skin.
Linda says:
To disinfect, you need to use enough product to coat fingers and hands. If you use too little, it will not disinfect.
