What is mildew? It is a mushroom that grows and thrives in warm, humid and dark conditions like shower, basement, etc. The best way to avoid mold is to make sure things are completely dry before you put them away. Remember that invisible mold spores can quickly grow in large proportions, especially on natural materials such as cotton, wool, leather, paper, wood, etc.
Do the following if you already have mold stains on fabrics. First, try to bring Fels Naptha Laundry Bar Soap around and wash it. If stains remain and the fabric tolerates chlorine bleach, place it in 1 gallon of cold water to which you have added 2-3 tablespoons of chlorine bleach
If you moisten white or colourfast clothes with lemon juice, sprinkle with salt and put the garment in the sun, powdery mildew can also be removed. If in doubt, test this method first.
Remember ODORZOUT is a great deodorant for every smell and it is safe, natural and used dry. Visit odorzout.com for more information. A teaspoon added to your laundry or sprinkled on dry clothes will help deodorize.
MOLD REMOVER FOR CLOTHING
This works well in bathrooms.
First, use adequate ventilation. Open a window or turn on a fan if you can.
This tip uses a product called Cotton Coil. This is used in hair salons to protect your skin from bleaches and dyes. It is basically a long roll made from 100% cotton. Buy Cotton Coil inexpensively in beauty stores and on Amazon. If you don't have or want to buy a cotton spool, you can use paper towel strips or the like. The nice thing about the cotton spool is that it stays wet longer so that it works longer and better. You can also use it like a cotton ball.
Soak the cotton spool in bleach and place it over the moldy seal. It has to sit overnight. Do not drop the bleach on other surfaces and do not remove towels, etc. from the area. Bleach vapors remove paint.
When you remove the bleached cotton, the shape should be gone. It will also be slower to return.
Rinse off the area once you've removed the cotton and you're done.
NATURAL TEA TREE OIL REMOVER
TEA TREE OIL is a natural antibacterial and antimicrobial agent. Although it's quite expensive, use only a small amount of it. Search on Amazon and not health food stores to save money. Make sure you buy PURE tea tree oil that is not combined with anything else.
Tea tree oil has a strong smell that I love. If you don't like it, add some lavender or eucalyptus essential oil to the formulas. Both work well in combination with the tea tree oil.
Do not store anything made with essential oil in the sun, it will oxidize in sunlight.
This NATURAL TEA TREE OIL FORM REMOVER is ideal for the shower or bathtub in which mold collects.
Combine in a labeled spray bottle:
2 cups of water
2 teaspoons of tea tree oil
Spray on the mold or mildew area. Leave for 15 minutes and then wipe. If the stain persists, spray it again and rub it with a nail brush or add a few drops of undiluted tea tree oil to the mold. Wait 30 minutes, then brush and rinse. You can find this in natural stores, drug stores and on Amazon.com. It has to be 100% pure to work.
FORGET YOUR CLOTHING IN THE WASHING MACHINE
If you forget your clothes in the washing machine, you know that they can smell of mold. Rinse the clothes again and pour 10 drops of tea tree oil into 1 cup of water. Then put them in the clothes in the washing machine. Do not add oil without diluting it.
NATURAL DISINFECTANT: Use this agent when cleaning the tub or shower to avoid mold.
2 cups of water
20 drops of pure tea tree oil
2 tablespoons of white vinegar
½ teaspoon of liquid soap
Place in a labeled spray bottle. Shake before use. Spray and wipe.
